Charlottetown’s Confederation Court Mall will have a few changes in the upcoming months with one store relocating to a larger space and another one expanding.

The store that is moving into a larger space is Eclipse.

“Downtown Charlottetown is a lively and vibrant area that we are so happy to be a part of and contribute to,” said Genevieve Bulgin, Eclipse’s director of retail operations, in a press release.

“Now, with our bigger space, we are hoping to bring more inventory in a wide range of styles for our new and loyal customers in the area.”

John Cudmore, president of Dyne Holdings, added that the store’s expansion “represents confidence in the mall” as well as “positive trends being experienced throughout the surrounding downtown core.”

The clothing store now sits in a space estimated at between 1,200 and 1,300 square feet. The new location, formerly occupied by KC Clothing, provides an additional 1,000 square feet to Eclipse’s current space, according to Jay Noble, marketing coordinator for Dyne Holdings.

A spokesperson with Eclipse said the store is expected to open in its new location in September.

Expanding in the mall is Uptown Shoes with a new section devoted to men’s footwear.

A third business preparing to open is Grand Senses Spa Suite & Aqua Massage Therapy Centre.
