RCMP shooters don’t show respect

-

In recent weeks, in the small village of Millvale, the RCMP have been using the local gun range to practice using their new weapons. These guns are very loud, so loud that they have to wear protective gear on their ears. This protective gear is so effective that they use bull horns to talk to each other. These bullhorns are loud as well; people can hear them talking a mile away.

A number of people in the area have complained and wrote letters to the RCMP asking them not to use that gun range because the noise disrupts their lives at every level. There are people with brain injuries, families with young children and people who chose this area to live a quiet life close to nature. In my case, I have PTSD and the sound of those gunshots is like a hit to my head every time.

The RCMP shooting starts at 7:30 in the morning and goes on all day until 6 p.m., it is continuous all day for the entire week.

The RCMP know all of this. They are not listening. This week they are continuing their shooting with total disregard to the complaints and lives of the people in that area. If you are someone living in this area and are disturbed by these gunshots, please contact the Queens County RCMP to complain. The more people complain, maybe just maybe they will show some respect and stop shooting.

Do we not deserve respect? Anne Gallant,
