Duo set to perform

Ceilidh in the City down to final two shows of season

-

Ceilidh in the City is down to its final two weeks of the 2017 season and will be keeping it traditional for the next two shows.

This week’s show on Wednesday, Oct. 25, will feature Leon Gallant and Michael Pendergast, a dynamic talented musical duo full of incredible energy.

For years these two performers were part of the Avonlea Show Band which has kept Islanders and visitors entertained when visiting Cavendish.

Gallant, who is a multi-instrumentalist and singer, also performs on a regular basis with a variety of other acts, including the Break Down Boys alongside Billy McInnis and Remi Arsenault. He has also been the host of several longstanding ceilidhs for many years.

Pendergast is another highly celebrated Island musician on many levels as a long time member of the Avonlea Show Band as well as other groups and as a solo performed as the beloved “Music Man”, who has been entertaining children for many years with his silly songs and stories. Pendergast is a talent accordion player and singer and will be bringing a whole new style of music to the Ceilidh In the City.

They will be joining the weekly hosts of the Ceilidh in the City, Kendall Docherty, Peter Burke, Brian Knox and Heartz Godkin, at the Jack Blanchard Centre located at 7 Pond St., Charlottetown. The show will get underway at 7:30 p.m. and the doors will be open at 6:30 p.m. for general admission.

There will be a canteen service which is operated by the catering staff from Holy Redeemer. There will also be a 50/50 draw in support of the Ceilidh Gives Back Fund, which supports various Island charities and families in need.
