A benefit ceilidh for Cindy Curran who needs surgery in Halifax after being injured in a motorcycle accident is Nov. 25, 7-10 p.m., at the Cotton Centre, 57 Bunbury Rd., Stratford. Acoustic Music Jam is every Sunday, 2-8:30 p.m., with the next one Nov. 26, at the Acadian Musical Village (Expo-Centre) Abram-Village (no jams on Dec. 10, 17, 24 and April 1. Students in Holland College’s music performanc­e program, part of the School of Performing Arts, will present their first showcase of the year Nov. 24, 7:30 p.m., in the Florence Simmons Performanc­e Hall on the Prince of Wales Lt.-Gov. Antoinette Perry conducts members of the P.E.I. Symphony during the “Cantata for Canada 150” show at the Confederat­ion Centre of the Arts last weekend. The choral lines of the cantata were written by four Island youths who won a provincewi­de poetry contest.

Got Blues Matinee is Saturdays, 2:304:30 p.m., at The Factory Cookhouse, 189 Kent St., Charlottet­own, hosted by Got Blues (Chris Roumbanis and friends Reg Ballagh & Mike Robicheau).
