Beaconsfield Historic House, a P.E.I. Museum site, was designed and built by W.C. Harris in 1877 for James and Edith Peake and was one of Charlottetown’s most elegant homes. Today, it stands as a beautiful example of Victorian architecture with many original features and a fascinating story to tell. in Summerside features the official opening of Bernadette Kernaghan’s exhibition Portraits in Oil: New Friends and Neighbours on Jan. 14, 2 p.m. The paintings construct a panorama of the diverse individuals Kernaghan has come into contact with since her move to P.E.I. in 2014. Several of the portraits reflect the influence of the past, while others reference an inner aspect of the individual. Portraits in Oil will be on display until Feb. 23.
