Stepping Into Spring, a new step-dancing event, is on the upper level of Confederation Court Mall, Charlottetown, with dance instructor Judy MacLean, Fridays, 7-8:30 p.m., in February and March. This fun and fitness dance evening features local step dancers and fiddlers as guests each week. Everyone is welcome. New dancers are welcome for this Spring’s Heritage Social Dance classes at Beaconsfield beginning March 6, 7-9 p.m., at the Beaconsfield Carriage House, corner of West and Kent streets. No partner or previous dance experience is needed. Learn social dances such as Scottish country, English country, quadrilles and round dances, focusing on basic steps and formations. There will also be more complex dances and formations for experienced dancers. A dance party on May 25 will feature a program of favourite dances from the classes. Playing with Choir is an opportunity to come together in a large group to learn simple three-part harmonies for popular songs of today and past decades and belt them out for the simple joy of singing.
