The City of Charlottetown’s Parks and Recreation Department is organizing several programs to be held during March break and continuing into the spring.

A March Break youth activity drop-in program is March 26-29 and April 3, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., for children in kindergarten to Grade 5, at the Hillsborough Park Community Centre. A fee of $2 per child, per morning applies, and the program includes lunch and refreshments. Pre-registration is not required, but children must be signed in each day by a parent or legal guardian.

A five-and-a-half-week ball hockey program will begin on May 5, continuing until June 9 at the Cody Banks Arena. The program will have a focus on fun and skill development and will include mini games with the groups.

Participants will be divided according to age levels which will dictate what time that particular program is run.

The ages for the program are 5-7, 8-10 and 11-12. A fee of $40 (city resident) and $55 (non-resident) will apply, and all participants will receive a T-shirt. Registration is open online as well as in person at City Hall. Registrations will not be accepted at the rink. Space is limited.

Registration is now open for the spring fitness sessions running from mid-March until the end of May. Fitness programs are offered for all levels and include classes for adults and seniors taking place at the West Royalty Community Centre, Park Royal United Church and Trinity United Church.
