Popalopalots Improv Comedy is hosting a 26-hour marathon, all in support of the QEH/Eastlink Telethon, to support the purchase of priority medical equipment for the QEH. The event begins March 30 at 8 p.m. and continues until March 31 at 10 p.m. and will feature seven members of the Popalopalots as they strive for 26 continuous, non-stop hours of laughter and improve. QIsland filmmaker John Hopkins will introduce his award-winning film, “Bluefin”, in Charlottetown on March 25, 2 p.m., in Room 242 of MacDougall Hall, UPEI. Filmed in North Lake, P.E.I., the documentary explores the baffling mystery of a sudden abundance of tuna off the shores of eastern Prince Edward Island, despite scientific assessments claiming tuna stocks are substantially depleted. This screening is hosted by the UPEI Environmental Society, Save our Seas and Shores P.E.I. and Cinema Politica Charlottetown. Admission by donation. Art Gallery features the “Gratitude” group exhibit. This is the 100th show put on in the gallery and will run until March 30. The book shares the narrative of Northup, citizen of New York, who was born a free man, later kidnapped and sold into slavery in 1841 and rescued in 1853, from a cotton plantation near the Red River in Louisiana. Playing with Choir is Tuesdays, 7-9 p.m., at The Guild in Charlottetown. The Prince Edward Island Regiment Museum at the Queen Charlotte Armoury on 3 Haviland St. in Charlottetown features “From Vimy to Juno”, a new travelling display and exhibit that provides an opportunity for visitors of all ages to learn about Canada’s role in the First and Second World Wars. It also draws parallels between the two World Wars and examines Canada as a nation from 1914 to 1945. The new exhibit will be on display until April 12. Gallery@The Guild features The IB Graduate Art Show from March 21 to April 14. This year’s exhibit will also include artwork from the first-year IB visual art students and the introductory art course offered at Colonel Gray High School.
