An international conference hosted by UPEI’s interdisciplinary Asian studies program wraps up today in the Main Building’s faculty lounge.

They will discuss Buddhism, Confucianism, Christianity and related topics, comparative studies and Japan’s “Kyoto School” (Zen and comparative philosophy/theology).

“This conference will help us to strengthen UPEI’s international reputation, expand its global exchange and partnership and recruit more international students from Asian countries,” said Edward Chung, Asian studies and Korean studies project director at UPEI.

A permit to construct a 48-unit condominium development in Stratford has been approved.

Council approved an application from Marshall MacPherson Ltd. to construct the development, which will see two 18-unit, three-storey buildings and one 12-unit, three-storey building constructed on Shakespeare Drive.
