Mount Con­tin­u­ing Care Com­mu­nity to host Lady Singers of our Cen­tury

The Lady Singers of our Cen­tury take the stage for a con­cert at The Mount Con­tin­u­ing Care Com­mu­nity, 141 Mt. Ed­ward Rd., Char­lot­te­town, to­day, start­ing at 7 p.m.

Tick­ets are $12 at the door, which opens at 6:30 p.m.

This group has been work­ing hard to present a new show and will be pay­ing trib­ute to a wide va­ri­ety of artists. Group mem­bers are also pleased to present this con­cert in this lo­ca­tion in or­der to share their mu­sic with res­i­dents who would not be able to at­tend one of their con­certs.

Hosts Joan Reeves and Judy Mc­Gre­gor will be singing fa­mil­iar songs of Con­nie Fran­cis. They have also cho­sen to sing songs made fa­mous by their favourite gym teacher, Anne Mur­ray. In ad­di­tion, they have put to­gether some great sto­ries and jokes.

Jolee Patkai is look­ing for­ward to once again pay­ing trib­ute to her favourite fe­male coun­try artist, Loretta Lynn, singing her most re­quested songs. Patkai will also pay trib­ute to Crys­tal Gayle, Lynn’s sis­ter.

Keila Gly­don will sing Patsy Cline’s most re­quested songs, and she will be pay­ing trib­ute to Tammy Wynette, singing some of her more pop­u­lar songs.

Colleen MacPhee will be pay­ing trib­ute once again to the late, great Rita MacNeil, singing all new ma­te­rial of hers, ex­cept for “Work­ing Man”, which the group has kept as its fi­nal song.
