Mount Continuing Care Community to host Lady Singers of our Century
The Lady Singers of our Century take the stage for a concert at The Mount Continuing Care Community, 141 Mt. Edward Rd., Charlottetown, today, starting at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $12 at the door, which opens at 6:30 p.m.
This group has been working hard to present a new show and will be paying tribute to a wide variety of artists. Group members are also pleased to present this concert in this location in order to share their music with residents who would not be able to attend one of their concerts.
Hosts Joan Reeves and Judy McGregor will be singing familiar songs of Connie Francis. They have also chosen to sing songs made famous by their favourite gym teacher, Anne Murray. In addition, they have put together some great stories and jokes.
Jolee Patkai is looking forward to once again paying tribute to her favourite female country artist, Loretta Lynn, singing her most requested songs. Patkai will also pay tribute to Crystal Gayle, Lynn’s sister.
Keila Glydon will sing Patsy Cline’s most requested songs, and she will be paying tribute to Tammy Wynette, singing some of her more popular songs.
Colleen MacPhee will be paying tribute once again to the late, great Rita MacNeil, singing all new material of hers, except for “Working Man”, which the group has kept as its final song.
A Lady Singers of our Century concert is Friday, June 15, at The Mount Continuing Care Community in Charlottetown. From left are Keila Glydon, Joan Reeves, Jolee Patkai, Judy McGregor and Colleen MacPhee.
