Last call for summer season at Indian River
It’s nearly time to close the door on another season of the popular Indian River Festival. But before the curtain closes, fans of the festival can look forward to one more performance on the main stage.
Ensemble Made in Canada (EMIC), a quartet comprised of pianist Angela Park, violinist Elissa Lee, violaist Sharon Wei and cellist Rachel Mercer, will present its Mosaique Project on Sunday, Sept. 16, at 3 p.m.
The unique project is an exciting nationwide initiative that allows the audience members to take part in expressing themselves through drawing as they listen to the pieces commissioned by 14 Canadians, each inspired by a different region of the country.
The foursome has garnered rave reviews and has been proclaimed Chatelaine’s ‘Women to Watch’ as they inspire and mentor the next generation of talented musicians.
“We’re looking forward to presenting Ensemble Made in Canada at Indian River Festival this year and (we’re) very excited about this project,” said the festival’s executive director Don Quarles.
Doors open at 2 p.m. and food and drink are available for purchase in the pavilion.
