A kitchen ceilidh is at The Lower Montague Women’s Institute Hall, 88 Lower Montague, Oct. 6, 6:30 p.m. (doors open at 6 p.m.). This is a fundraiser for hall renovation­s. Admission is by donation. Enjoy vocal harmonies and local musical talent, featuring featuring Killick Junction with Len Buell, Edna MacMaster, Wayne MacLean and Urban Chaisson, as well as Lester Stubbert and Denise Metcalf with Kayley, Addison and Hayes, Dorothy and Irving Hayter and many more local performers. Treats will be served at intermissi­on. There is a 50/59 draw. Fudge and peanut brittle plus Women’s Institute cookbooks will be available for sale. Bring an instrument and join in the fun.

Tunes on Tap is Sundays, 3-5 p.m., at Copper Bottom Brewery in Montague, hosted by Ward MacDonald with a special guest each week. All ages are welcome.

Irish music session with Roy Johnstone and friends is at the Old Triangle in Charlottet­own, Sundays, 2-5 p.m. Players are welcome.

A ceilidh is at the Silver Threads Seniors Club, Souris, Wednesdays, 8-11 p.m. There will be an open mike, door prize, 50/50 and a lunch.

An informal, acoustic traditiona­l music session is Thursdays, 7-9 p.m., at the Old Triangle, Charlottet­own. Players and dancers are welcome.

A ceilidh will be held in the New London Women’s Institute Hall, Route 6, on Oct. 13, 7:30 p.m. Entertaine­rs are The Island Girls, Millie MacDonald and Roy Kristianse­n. There will be a 50/50 draw, and a light lunch will be served. The hall is wheelchair accessible. Proceeds are in aid of hall upkeep. Admission is $8. Everyone is welcome to enjoy an evening of music.

A ceilidh will be held at the Seniors Active Living Centre, Bell Aliant Centre, UPEI, on Sunday, Oct. 14, 1:30 p.m., with Dino Dunsford, Jolee Patkai, Judy Lowe and Brian Knox. Admission is $10, and there will be a 50/50 draw. Light refreshmen­ts will be served. Door opens at 1 p.m. Proceeds help support centre activities.

CONCERTS

The Mount Concert Series continues on Oct. 5, 6:30 p.m., with entertainm­ent by Urban McAdam, John Campbell, Kevin Jesso, Ken Clarke and Tom LeClair. Admission is by donation at the door. The venue is at 141 Mt Edward Rd., Charlottet­own.

The Nathan Condon Memorial Concert for Suicide Prevention will be held at Trinity United, 90 Spring St., Summerside, Oct. 5, 7 p.m. Special guest is Kelley Mooney with guest performers Devon Broome, Dave Wigmore, Samantha MacKay, Kevin

Arthur and Jason Campbell, along with host Rev. Andrew Richardson. All of the proceeds will go to suicide prevention through Lennon House in North Rustico, Trinity United Church is fully wheelchair assessible. Doors will open at 6:15 p.m. Admission is at the door with a recommende­d donation of at least $10 per person.

Souris Live Sunday by the Sea Concert Series continues Oct. 5 at the Souris Legion, 56 Main St., Souris, with a Thanksgivi­ng gospel concert featuring Kendall Docherty and Friends. Tickets are at www. eventbrite.ca, at the Souris Legion or at the door. Doors will open at 7 p.m. with show time at 7:30 p.m.

Barra MacNeils: On the Bright Side will be presented Oct. 5, 7:30 p.m., at the Harbourfro­nt Theatre in Summerside.

Two and A Half Sopranos featuring Rebecca Apps, Hannah O’Donnell (mezzo sopranos), Sung Ha Shin-Bouey (soprano) and pianists Paul Rodermond and Frances Gray will take the stage on Oct. 5, 7:30 p.m., as part of the series organized by the UPEI Music Department. It will be held at the Dr. Steel Recital Hall on the school’s campus. Admission is $25 for adults and $10 for students.

Got Blues Matinee every Saturday, 2:30-4:30 p.m., at The Factory Downtown, 189 Kent St., Charlottet­own. The Ultimate Neil Diamond Tribute Show is in the Homburg Theatre of the Confederat­ion Centre of the Arts in Charlottet­own, Oct. 6, 7:30 p.m.

Jonah Anderson and The Blue Suede Band will be presenting An Evening with Elvis on Oct. 6 at the Kings Playhouse in Georgetown. All the favourite hits will be included in this special tribute show. Band members include Robert Graham, Bobby McIsaac, Adam MacGregor and Alicia and Shawn Arsenault. The opening act will be Nolan Compton.

A special Country Legends Tribute Tour is coming to the stage of the Kings Playhouse in Georgetown on Oct. 12, 7:30 p.m., as Gordon Cormier and Dave Pike will be covering legendary artists including George Jones, Conway Twitty, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard and Charlie Pride.

The Legends of Country Music Show is Oct. 13, 8:30 p.m., featuring over 20 local country music performers taking the stage to pay tribute to country music legends. It is part of the ninth annual Evangeline Country Music Festival being held at the Acadian Musical Village in Abram-Village.

FUNDRAISER­S

Evangeline Recreation Centre, the Acadian Musical Village and Mont Carmel Parish hold a Chase the Ace draw, Fridays at Acadian Musical Village, AbramVilla­ge. Doors open at 7 p.m. with the draw at 9 p.m. Entertainm­ent is 8-10 p.m. On Oct. 5, the estimated jackpot is $24,000, with 37 cards left. Entertainm­ent this week is by Sandra and Ricky Jones. Filmworks Summerside presents the film “Eighth Grade,” on Oct. 10, 6:30 p.m., about the challenges of adolescenc­e in the age of social media.
