Legion kitchen party is at the Summerside Legion, Oct. 13, 2-5 p.m.

Hunter River Lions Club ceilidh is Oct. 14, 7 p.m. Featured band is the Road Masters with Ivor Price, Wayne Diamond, David Moore and Theo Weigers. Performers include Mildred Dover, Sue La Maistre, Fenton MacSwain, Stan Chaisson, Joan Reeves and Judy MacGregor. There is a lunch and a 50/50.

A special Country Legends Tribute Tour is coming to the stage of the Kings Playhouse in Georgetown on Oct. 12, 7:30 p.m., as Gordon Cormier and Dave Pike will be covering legendary artists including George Jones, Conway Twitty, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard and Charlie Pride.

Young Artists Competitio­n winner Andrew Son will perform on the piano on Oct. 13, 7:30 p.m., at the Dr. Steel Recital Hall on the UPEI campus, as part of the series organized by the UPEI Music Department. Admission is $20 for adults and $10 for students.

The P.E.I. Symphony Orchestra 2018/2019 season-opening concert takes place on Oct. 21 at Zion Presbyteri­an Church in Charlottet­own. It features a rare revival of Linda Bouchard’s “Exquisite Fires”. Guest cello soloist Denise Djokic will join the orchestra to perform Dvořák’s “Cello Concerto in B minor”.
