Making wishes come true

Wishmaker Walk being held today

-

Groups across the province will come together today to help grant some heartfelt wishes for P.E.I. children living with life-threatening illnesses.

The Wishmaker Walk will be held in five locations across the province in support of the P.E.I. Chapter of the Children’s Wish Foundation.

Walks will be held in Charlottetown, Summerside, Montague, Tignish and North Rustico.

Families, individuals, corporate and community groups are invited to collect pledges for the purpose of helping to grant wishes to Island children between the ages of three and 17.

Participants can register as individuals, create or join a team with family, friends or colleagues, or make a donation to an individual or team online.

Prizes will be awarded for the most money raised by an individual and as a team.

The events will also feature crafts and activities for kids, snacks and a short walk in select locations.

Registration at Charlottetown, Summerside and North Rustico will be held at 1 p.m. with the walk starting at 2 p.m.

Tignish will host activities starting at 1 p.m. while Montague will host a family fun event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

More info on the walk is available at Wishmaker.ca or by calling the Children’s Wish Foundation at 1-800-2679474.
