Mak­ing wishes come true

Wish­maker Walk be­ing held to­day

Groups across the province will come to­gether to­day to help grant some heart­felt wishes for P.E.I. chil­dren liv­ing with life-threat­en­ing ill­nesses.

The Wish­maker Walk will be held in five lo­ca­tions across the province in sup­port of the P.E.I. Chap­ter of the Chil­dren’s Wish Foun­da­tion.

Walks will be held in Char­lot­te­town, Sum­mer­side, Mon­tague, Tignish and North Rus­tico.

Fam­i­lies, in­di­vid­u­als, cor­po­rate and com­mu­nity groups are in­vited to col­lect pledges for the pur­pose of help­ing to grant wishes to Is­land chil­dren be­tween the ages of three and 17.

Par­tic­i­pants can reg­is­ter as in­di­vid­u­als, cre­ate or join a team with fam­ily, friends or col­leagues, or make a do­na­tion to an in­di­vid­ual or team on­line.

Prizes will be awarded for the most money raised by an in­di­vid­ual and as a team.

The events will also fea­ture crafts and ac­tiv­i­ties for kids, snacks and a short walk in se­lect lo­ca­tions.

Reg­is­tra­tion at Char­lot­te­town, Sum­mer­side and North Rus­tico will be held at 1 p.m. with the walk start­ing at 2 p.m.

Tignish will host ac­tiv­i­ties start­ing at 1 p.m. while Mon­tague will host a fam­ily fun event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
