Mur­phy re­ceives Pil­lar of Phar­macy award

Cana­dian Foun­da­tion for Phar­macy ex­ec­u­tive di­rec­tor Dayle Acorn, right, con­grat­u­lates P.E.I.’s Ray Mur­phy on be­ing hon­oured with this year’s Pil­lar of Phar­macy award dur­ing a re­cep­tion and din­ner at Mur­phy’s Com­mu­nity Cen­tre on Tues­day, Oct. 9. Mur­phy, who es­tab­lished Mur­phy’s Phar­ma­cies in 1981 be­fore grow­ing it to its cur­rent 13 lo­ca­tions, was hon­oured with the na­tional award. He was se­lected for his lead­er­ship in the in­dus­try on P.E.I. as well as for his com­mu­nity work. Mur­phy, who was pre­vi­ously ap­pointed to the Order of Canada, served as a board mem­ber for nu­mer­ous non-profit or­ga­ni­za­tions through­out the past decades in ad­di­tion to his com­pany’s on­go­ing sup­port of the Mur­phy’s Com­mu­nity Cen­tre.
