St Mark’s Presbyteri­an Church to host tribute concert Oct. 15

Some of P.E.I.’s talented female vocalists are teaming up to present their 13th performanc­e this year of A Tribute to Lady Singers of our Century on Monday, Oct 15 at St Mark’s Presbyteri­an Church.

The concert starts at 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $12, and are available by call 902-368-8246 or the church office at 902-892-5255.

This is a fundraiser for the church which is located at 7 Tamarac Ave. in Sherwood.

For the past three years these women have been receiving standing ovations at every performanc­e and filling churches and concert halls across P.E.I.

Hosts Joan Reeves and Judy McGregor will sing familiar songs of Connie Francis and Anne Murray. Also known as Ding and Dong they will also be telling stories and jokes.

Jolee Patkai will pay tribute to two of her favourite singers, Loretta Lynn and Crystal Gayle. Patkai most recently was invited to join Canadian singer Carroll Baker on stage at the Harbourfro­nt Theatre in Summerside. Patkai is also a member of the popular group, Treble with Girls.

Keila Glydon, also a member of Phase 11 and Friends will perform some of the most requested songs by Patsy Cline and Tammy Wynette.

Colleen MacPhee will be singing songs by the late Rita MacNeil. One of her most requested songs is “Working Man” which MacPhee will be performing.
