Woman struck by vehicle

-

A woman remains in hospital after being struck by a vehicle in New Glasgow on Nov. 7. Just after 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Queens District RCMP responded to an emergency on Route 13 where a young woman was walking when she was struck by a vehicle travelling in a southern direction. Police believe the collision was a result of a number of factors: the woman walking on the travelling portion of the roadway; the sun obscuring the vision of the vehicle driver and the location being on a blind crest.

The woman, who is not from Canada but is on the Island visiting, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where she remains and is being treated for serious but for non-lifethreatening injuries.
