Drunk driver jailed

-

A Lower Montague man who hit another vehicle while driving drunk was sentenced recently to 20 days in jail.

Joseph Leith Curran, 60, appeared before Chief Judge Nancy Orr in provincial court in Georgetown for sentencing after previously entering a guilty plea.

The court heard Curran was involved in a motor vehicle collision after coming over a blind hill. Curran’s blood alcohol level was around twice the legal limit.

Along with the jail time, Curran must pay a $1,000 fine and $300 victim surcharge.

He is banned from driving for one year.
