Hurricanes playing Seawolves today in Saint John, N.B.

The Holland College Hurricanes volleyball teams hit the road today to tangle with the UNBSJ Seawolves in Saint John, N.B. Start times for the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Associatio­n (ACAA) contests are 2 p.m. for the women and 4 p.m. for the men. The men’s ‘Canes (1-0) picked up a straight-sets victory over the Université Sainte-Anne last weekend and sit in second place in the ACAA behind St. Thomas (2-0). UNBSJ is 0-1 after opening the season with a loss to St. Thomas.

On the women’s side, Holland College (3-1) finds itself in a three-way tie for second place with Mount Allison and King’s College while fifthplace UNBSJ is 1-2.

Aaron Pugh and Brett Butler each had seven kills in the ‘Canes victory. Brittany States and Abby Hyndman have had strong starts to the season for the ‘Canes as both sit in the top10 in kills per set in the ACAA with 2.31 and 1.92, respective­ly.
