Fo­rum fo­cuses on the re­al­ity and find­ing so­lu­tions

The P.E.I. Work­ing Group for a Liv­able In­come, in part­ner­ship with the Pub­lic Health As­so­ci­a­tions of New Brunswick and P.E.I., in­vites the com­mu­nity to a fo­rum on the re­al­ity of poverty in P.E.I. and a di­a­logue about so­lu­tions.

The event will be held on Nov. 20, 6:30 p.m., at Trin­ity United Church Hall, 220 Rich­mond St., Char­lot­te­town.

Key­note speaker is Dr. Heather Mor­ri­son, chief health of­fi­cer for Prince Ed­ward Is­land. She will dis­cuss her P.E.I. gov­ern­ment­com­mis­sioned re­search, Chil­dren’s Re­port 2017: In­vest­ing in our Fu­ture.

Par­tic­i­pants will fol­low up with a di­a­logue about how to find and pro­mote so­lu­tions to child and fam­ily poverty on the Is­land. The di­a­logue will be di­rected by the P.E.I. Work­ing Group for a Liv­able In­come which for many years has pro­moted Ba­sic In­come Guar­an­tee as an ex­per­i­men­tal pro­gram in this prov­ince.
