The City of Charlottetown is participating in GivingTuesday by providing an additional drop-off location for items needed for The Upper Room Hospitality Ministry food bank.

The Upper Room Hospitality Ministry is currently in need of tuna, rice, Chunky soup, peanut butter, canned fruit, canned vegetables and baked beans.

All non-perishable items will be accepted leading up to GivingTuesday and perishable items will be accepted only on Tuesday, Nov. 27.

A donation box is set up at City Hall (199 Queen Street) by the main reception desk, available during business hours.

GivingTuesday is a global movement for giving and volunteering, taking place each year after Black

Friday.

It’s a time when charities, companies and individuals join together and rally for their favourite causes.

Across Canada and around the world, GivingTuesday unites communities by sharing the capacity to care for and empower one another.

Charlottetown will light up the bell tower at city hall in the colour red on Tuesday, Nov. 27, in support of GivingTuesday.

GivingTuesday is not only about donating tangible items, but also donating time through volunteer efforts.
