The funeral for Glenn Buote, of Whitecourt, Alberta and formerly of North Rustico, was held on Friday, November 23, 2018, at Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, North Rustico. The celebrant for the mass of Christian burial was Reverend Arulraj Santiago, who also proclaimed the Gospel and delivered the homily. The first reading, from Wisdom, was addressed by Rowena Lowther. The second reading, from II Corinthian­s, was addressed by Faren Buote. The Prayers of the Faithful were led by Beryl Doiron. Words of remembranc­e were shared by brothers, Vernon Buote and Faren Buote. The altar servers were Vernon Buote, Peter Gallant, Joan Doiron. The cross bearer was Curtis Gallant. Arlene Trainor assisted Father Raj as a Eucharisti­c minister. The music was provided by the church choir with Sister Phyllis Gallant, CND, as organist; and Noreen Down as song leader. The hymns were: Entrance, “I Will Never Forget You”; Psalm, “Psalm of the Good Shepherd”, with Noreen Down as cantor; Gospel Acclamatio­n, “Celtic Alleluia”, with Noreen Down as cantor; offertory, “Lord You Have Come to the Sea Shore”; communion, “Seek Ye First”; post communion, “Hallelujah”, sung by Janet Doiron; commendati­on, “Songs of the Angels”; and recessiona­l, “How Great Thou Art”. Honorary pallbearer­s were everyone present. Bearers of honour were Grace Buote, Ashley Rose, Chase Buote, Chantale Leblanc, Vernon Buote, Francis Gallant, Faren Buote, Joey Gauthier, Selwyn Buote, and Trevor Buote. Flower bearers were Grace Buote, Candace Hamrin, Karlee Zemp, Kyle Zemp, Brad Butler, Josie Butler and Lambert Veenstra. Interment took place in the church cemetery where Father Raj conducted the committal service. Arrangemen­ts were entrusted to Central Queen`s Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
