It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Balbina (Bal) MacDonald (nee MacPhee), announces her peaceful passing at the Dr. John Gillis Memorial Lodge, Belfast, on Monday, December 3, 2018, at the age of 77 years. Formerly of St. Georges, PEI, she was the devoted daughter of the late Allan and Mary (nee MacLean) MacPhee, and beloved wife of the late George C. MacDonald. Survived by her loving children Mary (Tim) Harris, Kensington; Agnes, St. Georges; Georgina (Eugene) MacIntyre, Charlottet­own; Rosella, St. Georges; Patricia (Robert) Brousseau, Georgetown; Greg, Charlottet­own; Margaret (Blair) Somers, Cornwall; Isabelle (Kirk Tyler), Waverley, Nova Scotia), John (Ken Vanderwell), Slave Lake, Alberta; Dan (Patsy Gavin), Stratford; and David, St. Georges. Cherished grandmothe­r of Brook and Kristen MacIntyre; Scottie and Caleigh Brousseau; Justin (Amelia), Brett, and Alyssa (Peter Malone) Somers; Dallas MacDonald; TJ and Alicia Joy. Proud Great-grandmothe­r to Elliot, Jackson, and Sophia. Much loved sister to Mary Anne (Lawrence) Johnston, Powell River, British Columbia; Benny (Sylvia), Charlottet­own; Jacqueline (Lowell) MacDonald, Montague; Brendon (Salina Staples), Whitecourt, Alberta; and Allana (Joey) Johnston, Popular Point. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predecease­d by her infant sister Linda, twin brother George, older brother Albert, nephew Allan Joe, brother in law Gerald Johnston, and sisters in law Sandy and Ruth. Resting at the Ferguson Logan Funeral Home, Montague, where visiting hours will take place Wednesday December 5th, 4-7 PM. Funeral mass will be held Thursday December 6th, 10:30 am at St. Georges Roman Catholic Church. Interment in St. Georges Cemetery. If so desired, memorial contributi­ons may be made to the PEI Humane Society, the PEI branch of the Alzheimer’s Society (#Let’s Talk Memory), or the St. Georges Cemetery Fund.
