Christmas Ceilidh in the City welcomes special guests this evening

The annual Christmas Ceilidh in the City, taking place this evening. welcomes back some of the fan favourites form the summer edition of this popular series.

They include Keelin Wedge, fiddler, guitar picker and singer, Dino Dunsford, one of the Island’s favorite troubadour­s for over six decades, and Colleen MacPhee, the singer known as the Island’s own Rita.

This annual Christmas concert has been a way to celebrate the season and bring back this popular summer concert series one last time for the loyal supporters who come out each week.

The ceilidh crew, consisting of Kendall Docherty, Peter Burke, Brian Knox and Heartz Godkin, have also used this show as a way to help out a couple of Island charities at Christmas. There will be a collection of new, unwrapped toys for the Salvation Army’s Toys for Tots programs, and the evening’s 50/50 draw will be donated to the Charlottet­own Food Bank.

The show will get underway at 7:30 p.m. at the Jack Blanchard Centre located at 7 Pond St., Charlottet­own. Doors will be open at 6:30 p.m. for general admission.
