Silent Santa event at mall for special needs children

The Guardian (Charlottetown) - - THE ISLAND -

The Confederation Court Mall will have a special hour this holiday season dedicated to Silent Santa. From 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9, the mall will shut off the music, dim the lights and keep the noise level to a minimum in order to accommodate children with special needs.

Santa will be arriving an hour early, just as the mall opens, so children with special needs have the opportunity to visit him in a quiet setting.

Nathalie Walsh-Annand, executive director of the Autism Society of P.E.I., said the society’s “thrilled” the mall has taken this initiative.

“We appreciate Island businesses incorporating the needs of individuals with autism and creating inclusive experiences.”
