City working on event strategy

Work began in November on stage 2 of the City of Charlottetown’s sport tourism guidelines for growth’s event strategy.

Stage 2 will focus on festivals, events and conventions the city hosts.

The city’s intergovernmental affairs committee notes it’s important this strategy be completed in the near future as it will provide strategic vision and guidance in addition to serving as a platform for seeking federal and provincial funding for various projects and events.

The project will be cost shared between the city and the Charlottetown Special Events Reserve Fund.
