The funeral for Leo Murphy was held on Monday, December 10, 2018 from the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottet­own Funeral Home to the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer. The funeral pall was placed on the casket by Leo’s children, Paul Murphy and Dana McIsaac. The concelebra­ted funeral mass was offered by Fr. Joseph Dovari as chief celebrant and homilist. He was assisted by Fr. Raju Chebattina, Fr. Joseph Maddala, Fr. George Palamattam, Fr. Benedict Paulraj and Fr.Arulraj Santiago. The first reading was proclaimed by niece Tami Power and the second reading was proclaimed by sister-in-law Georgie Smith. The prayers of the faithful were offered by Bryon Sutcliffe. The Funeral Mass was sung by the Holy Redeemer Church Choir under the direction of Tom Wilkinson. During the mass the procession­al hymn was How Great Thou Art, the offertory hymn was Come Back to Me, the communion hymn was Come To The Water and the recessiona­l hymn was We Shall Go Out. The organist was Gary Cudmore. Also, during the mass soloist Morissa Ings sang the meditation hymn, Raise Me Up. She was accompanie­d by her father Darren Ings. The pallbearer­s were Chris Fleming, Willis Bulger, Dave Power, Joe Tinney, Keiran Goodwin and Corey Bulger. The honorary pallbearer­s were everyone in attendance. The interment will take place later in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottet­own. Among those attending the funeral liturgy were representa­tives of St. Vincent de Paul, Nursing Class of 1963 and Canadian Revenue Agency.
