Make merry with ‘Sing Noël’

Confederat­ion Centre Youth Chorus continues a holiday tradition Dec. 16 with special guest Joey Kitson

Don Fraser and the Choral Music Program at Confederat­ion Centre of the Arts invite people of all ages to an afternoon of holiday revelry this weekend with Sing Noël.

On Dec. 16, the Confederat­ion Centre Youth Chorus takes to the Homburg Theatre stage at 3 p.m. to perform an afternoon of classic Christmas carols. The large youth choir will be joined by an audience favourite, special guest and Island son, Joey Kitson.

0The guest host will be Valerie Moore.

Accompanie­d by Sara White on piano and Donald Fraser on organ, the youth chorus will perform both contempora­ry and classic Christmas selections, including “Welcome Yule”, “In Bethlehem”, “Star Carol”, “O Come All Ye Faithful”, “Angel Tidings” and “O Holy Night”.

The audience is encouraged to sing along with these another familiar carols.

This year will also feature a beautiful new contempora­ry carol by John Rutter, “What Sweeter Music”.
