Guertler scores three in UPEI win

Gabe Guertler scored a nat­u­ral hat trick to pace the UPEI Pan­thers to a 5-3 vic­tory over the Dal­housie

Ber­isha also scored in the vic­tory. Kameron Kielly, who is tied with Hunter Gar­lent of the Saint Mary’s Huskies for the con­fer­ence’s scor­ing lead with 32 points, had three as­sists. De­fence­man Owen Head­rick had a pair of helpers while sin­gles went to Cody Payne, Bobby Zinkan, Troy La­je­unesse, Sam Aulie and Nick Shum­lan­ski.

Kelly Bent, Jack­son Play­fair and Mike Eve­lyn scored for the Tigers. Con­nor Welsh had a pair of as­sists while Dil­lon Boucher, Jonathan Cyr, Camp­bell Pickard and Con­nor Don­aghey each had sin­gles.

Si­mon Hofley made 44 saves for the vic­tory while Reilly Pickard stopped 46 shots.

UPEI was 1-for-9 on the power play while Dal­housie was 0-for-7. The Pan­thers held 2-1 and 4-2 pe­riod leads.

UPEI im­proved to 11-8-2 and is tied with St. FX for third place while Dal­housie (6-16-0) is in last place.
