Scherger per­fect in Pan­ther vic­tory

Camille Scherger stopped all 35 shots she faced Satur­day to back­stop the UPEI Pan­thers to a 2-0 vic­tory over the Monc­ton Aigles Bleues in At­lantic Univer­sity Sport women’s hockey ac­tion. Cap­tain Emma Weather­bie and as­sis­tant cap­tain Rachel Colle each had a goal and an as­sist with both goals com­ing on the power play.

The game was score­less after the first pe­riod. Weather­bie scored in the sec­ond pe­riod while Colle tal­lied two min­utes into the third. Au­drey Berthi­aume made 22 saves in the loss.

UPEI was 2-for-4 on the power play and killed all four of Monc­ton’s chances with the man ad­van­tage. The Pan­thers im­proved to 10-8-1 and are tied with UNB for fourth place, two points up on Monc­ton (9-10-1).
