Scherger perfect in Panther victory
Camille Scherger stopped all 35 shots she faced Saturday to backstop the UPEI Panthers to a 2-0 victory over the Moncton Aigles Bleues in Atlantic University Sport women’s hockey action. Captain Emma Weatherbie and assistant captain Rachel Colle each had a goal and an assist with both goals coming on the power play.
The game was scoreless after the first period. Weatherbie scored in the second period while Colle tallied two minutes into the third. Audrey Berthiaume made 22 saves in the loss.
UPEI was 2-for-4 on the power play and killed all four of Moncton’s chances with the man advantage. The Panthers improved to 10-8-1 and are tied with UNB for fourth place, two points up on Moncton (9-10-1).
