Garrett Mason at the Trailside on June 12

-

East Coast blues musician Garrett Mason will be playing the Trailside Music Cafe & Inn in Mount Stewart on Wednesday, June 12, with special guest poet J.G. Lutes.

Mason is a true bluesman at heart. He was raised in Truro, N.S., by his mother Pam, and his father, veteran Canadian Bluesman Dutchie Mason. His quest to become a blues musician started at a very early age after being surrounded by blues music. His favourite tapes at three years old were “Canned Heat” and “Buddy Rich”.

What really sealed the deal for him to become a blues guitarist came after watching a video of Stevie Ray Vaughn “Live At the El Mocambo”.

“I think anyone who has seen Garrett before will come back time and time again,” says promoter Pat Deighan. “Just a wildly amazing blues show and not to be missed if you’re a fan or not of that genre.”

Tickets are available at www. trailside.ca, Back Alley Music or call 902-394-3626. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with music starting at 8 p.m.
