Teen faces hefty price for driv­ing drunk

GE­ORGE­TOWN — A judge told a teenager who is too young to legally drink that his de­ci­sion to drive while im­paired will prove costly.

Chief Provin­cial Court Judge Nancy Orr re­cently sen­tenced Bran­don James Robert­son, 18, to three days in jail after Robert­son pleaded guilty to op­er­at­ing a ve­hi­cle on April 21 in Rose­neath with a blood al­co­hol read­ing over the le­gal limit.

The judge also fined Robert­son $1,000 and told the teen to ex­pect to pay about five times what most oth­ers pay for car in­sur­ance.

Robert­son does not need to think about car in­sur­ance for the time be­ing.

He is pro­hib­ited from driv­ing for two years.
