Teen faces hefty price for driving drunk
GEORGETOWN — A judge told a teenager who is too young to legally drink that his decision to drive while impaired will prove costly.
Chief Provincial Court Judge Nancy Orr recently sentenced Brandon James Robertson, 18, to three days in jail after Robertson pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle on April 21 in Roseneath with a blood alcohol reading over the legal limit.
The judge also fined Robertson $1,000 and told the teen to expect to pay about five times what most others pay for car insurance.
Robertson does not need to think about car insurance for the time being.
He is prohibited from driving for two years.
