Charlottetown, Eastlink Centre to host Raptors screening event

-

The City of Charlottetown has partnered with Eastlink Centre to host a live screening of Game 6 of the NBA Finals.

Canada is coming together to cheer on the Toronto Raptors as they go head-to-head in Game 6 against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday, June 13.

The Raptors have taken the country by storm. Canada’s lone team in the league is one win away from bringing the championship trophy north of the border for the first time ever.

Raptors – Capital City Courtside Viewing will take place at Eastlink Centre (46 Kensington Rd.), where doors will open at 8 p.m. for a 10 p.m. game start time.

This event is free and open to all ages.

Floor seating, arena seating and standing room will be available to view the game on one of five large HD screens.

Canteen service will be open, and this is a licensed event.

Hundreds of thousands of fans across Canada have been watching the Raptors at live viewing events, and Thursday is expected to be the biggest turnout to date.

If game seven is necessary, a live screening event will be held on Saturday, June 15 – details pending.

This event is being hosted indoors to accommodate the city’s noise bylaw given the timing of the game, as well as the risk of inclement weather.
