The funeral for John Flynn was held on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottet­own Funeral Home to St. Pius X Church where the funeral mass was celebrated by Father Maurice Praught who also delivered the homily. The first reading was proclaimed by Charlie Sherry and the second reading was proclaimed by Kathy Norrie. The prayers of the faithful were offered by Glen MacInnis. The funeral mass was sung St. Pius X Church Choir under the direction of Eileen Flanagan. The organist was Karen Power and the violinist was Frank Lechowick. They rendered the entrance hymn, Morning Has Broken, the psalm, Rest In God Alone, the offertory hymn, Lord Make Us Servants of Your Peace, the communion hymn, Something Which Is Known and the recessiona­l hymn Sing With All the Saints In Glory. The pallbearer­s were Jeremy Crosby, Kyle Norrie, Dale MacDonald, Barry Arsenault, James Sherry and Mohamed Jama. The interment took place in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, where Fr. Praught held the graveside service.
