Sohayla Smith on P.E.I. for shows
Touring artist to perform at Music at the Manse and Baba’s Lounge this weekend
Sohayla Smith, an award-winning touring artist is coming to P.E.I. for two shows this week.
“I’ve always wanted to come out east. And I absolutely love it, so far,” says the Ontario singersongwriter, during a telephone interview from Nova Scotia.
Smith will make her debut performance at Music at the Manse on Friday, Sept. 27, 7 p.m. The venue is situated at 14155 St. Peter's Rd., Marshfield. Call 902-213-2861 for reservations.
Smith will also perform at Baba’s Lounge in Charlottetown on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Smith comes well recommended. Born in Toronto and residing in Shelburne, Ont., Smith won best country recording for "Burn it to the Ground" during the 2018 Clouzine International Music Awards. Her band was nominated for a 2017 Toronto Independent Music award for best country. Her single, "Bridges", was awarded first place in the Americana category. As well, "The Breakdown" was the November 2017 Pop Winner on OurStage where she is currently at the top of Best Country Artists charts, as well as No. 1 Americana Artist on ReverbNation.

Smith and her band have performed at the Rockwood Music Hall in Manhattan, New York, the 2018 Peak to Shore Music Festival and the Erin Roots Concert Series.
They have also opened for Irish Mythen and Ken Yates.
