Saturday, Oct. 5, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., to test five a GM product and help Camp Abby. Camp Abby and Township Motors will be in the parking lot of Trinity United Church, 90 Spring St., Summerside from. Each test drive will result in a donation to the camp. All that is required is a valid driver’s license.
Saturday, Oct. 5, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Central Christian Church, 223 Kent St., Charlottetown, for Al Anon Day. Event will include speakers, meetings and lunch.
Monday, Oct. 7, 1 p.m., for an auction tournament at St. Anne’s Parish, Hope River, 106 St. Patrick’s Rd. (basement). Admission is $8 per person. Bring a partner. There will be door prizes, a 50/50 and a buffet supper. For information, contact Inez Doiron at 902-5692194.
Saturday Oct. 5, 4-6:30 p.m., for a pork chop dinner sponsored by Hillcrest United Church in the Valleyfield room of the church. Pre-purchased tickets are recommended by calling Margie, 9029694788, or Clara, 902-838-4555 by Oct. 2. Pre purchased ticket price is $13 with $15 at the door. The dinner includes a roll, vegetables, dessert, coffee or tea.
Monday, Oct. 14, for the New Glasgow Christian Church annual turkey supper to be held at the New Glasgow Lobster Suppers building, New Glasgow, 4-7:30 p.m.
Celebration
Island Nature Trust and Nature P.E.I. are hosting a joint event on Sept. 28, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Deroche Pond Natural Area. Various activities are scheduled, including critter dipping for invertebrates, canoe trips across the pond, guided nature walks and stories of the rich history of the area. Participants should meet at the Blooming Point Beach Parking Lot on MacDonald Road. Admission is by donation.
