-

Music P.E.I.’s Tiny Island Concert Series continues today with live-streamed performances by Rick Sparkes (8 p.m. AST) and Coyote (8:30 p.m. AST).

Sparkes is an awardwinning writer and musician from Summerside. His first full-length album, The Trouble with the Light, was released in September 2018 to critical acclaim. Songs from the album have received radio play across Canada.

Coyote is an ECMA-winning pop/rock band with members from eastern P.E.I. and Springhill, N.S. They've toured the country coast to coast, garnered international radio play and shared stages with acts like Stars, Tokyo Police Club, Plants and Animals and Hey Rosetta!.

The music continues on Sunday, May 31, with performances by Nikkie Gallant (8 p.m.) and Gordie MacKeeman (8:30 p.m.).

Gallant writes and performs heart-aching indie pop songs featuring lush vocals and tremolo-laced electric guitar sounds.

She has been recognized for her work, earning multiple Music P.E.I. Awards nominations, including songwriter of the year.

Gordie MacKeeman and His Rhythm Boys’ latest release, Dreamland, is a refreshing and electric mix of covers and original songs that draws on styles ranging from folky bluegrass to old time country to rockabilly. The group has 12 Music P.E.I. Awards and East Coast Music Awards for its albums.

The Tiny Island Concert Series is an initiative in response to COVID-19 and its effects on Island musicians and music industry workers. For more information, check out https://musicpei.com.

Every Tiny Island Concert is free for the public at https://www.facebook.com/MusicPEI/, although donations will be accepted towards the newly-established Music P.E.I. Crisis Relief Fund.
