Ultimate P.E.I. campfire experience

Local business teams up with local musician to provide some summer fun

-

Lone Oak Brewing Co. in Borden-Carleton has teamed up with Island-born musician Lawrence Maxwell to create a classic P.E.I. campfire-style event for one lucky resident and their closest friends.

Lone Oak Brewing Co. will be running a contest for Campfires, Kegs, and Country Music on its Facebook page (Facebook.com/ loneoakbrew/) until July 31, at which time a winner will be selected.

The winner will receive a two-hour acoustic set performed by Lawrence Maxwell, a signed copy of his new album Almost Natural and signed customer event poster, a 19-litre keg of beer and a 24-pack of canned beer of their choosing from Lone Oak Brewing Co., along with Lone Oak’s custom mobile oyster bar equipped with complimentary oysters and a personal shucker.

Maxwell said the idea came to him when he was playing music with friends around a fire and he wanted to create that experience for someone else.

“I reached out to Lone Oak, who have supported me since day one, and they were excited to be a part of an event that brings people together, safely.”

The event will be scheduled for a convenient date in August, subject to weather and availability. Current outdoor social gathering numbers and proper physical-distancing measures are to be followed as per Health P.E.I. guidelines.
