Brick furniture store expands in Atlantic Canada
The Brick furniture store has opened new stores in three Atlantic Canadian cities this summer and expects to open a fourth later in the year.
The three new stores are in Charlottetown, Saint John and Fredericton. The fourth new store is planned for St. Johns, N.L.
“The Brick’s expansion in Atlantic Canada is creating jobs during a challenging economic period in Canada,” said Dave Freeman, president of The Brick, in a press release. “I am incredibly pleased to celebrate our latest openings and to announce that we have plans for even further growth later this year and into 2021 as we continue serving communities on the East Coast.”
The Brick, which is a Canadian furniture, mattresses, appliances and home electronics retailer, relocated its Charlottetown store and opened in the Charlottetown Mall on July 1. The two New Brunswick stores in Fredericton and Saint John have created about 50 jobs. The Saint John store opened on June 4, and the Fredericton location opened on July 16. Grand opening celebrations at the new stores are planned throughout August.
The Brick’s parent company, the LFL Group, is also planning to open a distribution facility in Dartmouth, N.S.
