Impaired drivers nabbed in city

Charlottet­own Police Services responded to 12 complaints of possible impaired drivers over the weekend, five of which resulted in charges being laid.

A 25-year-old Milton Station man was charged after police responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver at 3:29 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 11.

The vehicle was located on Prince Street and pulled over.

Police determined the driver was impaired by alcohol.

He was arrested and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in provincial court at a later date.

A 31-year-old Charlottet­own woman was charged after police responded to a complaint of a person possibly impaired leaving a residence on Kensington Road at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 11.

Police located the vehicle a short time later on Pownal Street and determined the driver was impaired by alcohol.

The woman was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in provincial court at a later date.

A 63-year-old Johnsons River woman was charged after police responded to a complaint of a person possibly impaired and driving on Dorchester Street at 4:15 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 11.

Police located the vehicle a short time later on York Road and determined the driver was impaired by alcohol.

The woman was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in provincial court at a later date.

A 43-year-old Charlottet­own woman was charged while police were investigat­ing an unrelated occurrence at 2:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 12.

The woman showed up at the residence in her vehicle and was found to be impaired by alcohol.

She was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in provincial court at a later date.

A 29-year-old York man was charged after police responded to a complaint of an impaired driver on Longworth Avenue at 2:42 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 12.

Police located the vehicle and determined the driver was impaired by alcohol.

The man was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in provincial court at a later date.
