Surrounded by his loving family John left this world peacefully at the age of 60, on October 11th to be with the Lord. John leaves behind his beloved wife Brenda (nee MacNeill) and his dogs Charley and Jake. John was the son of the late Andy and Peggy (Harnish) Wedge. He is survived by his twin sister Judy Schellen (Andy), his brothers John “Junior” Carver (Hazel) and William Carver (Kim), nieces and nephews Andrew Jenkins (Aleisha), Jill Jenkins (Mike Curran) and Julie (Alfred) Carver, Megan and Abbey Carver and numerous great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his father and mother in-law, Hugh and Violet MacNeill, sister in-laws Cathy (Vince) Bradbury, Darlene (Chet) David, Sandra (Robert) McNally, brother in-law Kenneth (Catherine) MacNeill, and numerous nieces and nephews. John moved to Alberta at the age of 19 and worked for many years as a steamfitte­r-pipefitter at various oil refineries. He was a proud employee of the United Associatio­n of Pipefitter­s, Local 488 Edmonton for several years until his retirement in 2014. John was born in Charlottet­own, lived in Calgary, Alberta, Mount Albion, PEI and for the past four years in Rusticovil­le. Resting at Central Queens Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Due to COVID-19 restrictio­ns a private funeral will be held at Sherwood Christian Church, Thursday, October 15, 2020 at 11 a.m. followed by burial in Cavendish Community Cemetery. The funeral will be live streamed on the Central Queen’s Funeral Home Facebook page. If so desired, donations may be made to the Sherwood Christian Church or the PEI Humane Society.
