Martha Spirituali­ty Centre turns to Zoom in 2021

The Martha Spirituali­ty Centre will be offering variety of programs via Zoom for the winter and spring of 2021.

This is due to COVID-19 regulation­s that make space inadequate to offer face-toface programmin­g. Through the help of so many facilitato­rs, the following Zoom programmin­g is planned:

Christian meditation is Tuesdays, 10-10:45 a.m., Jan. 5 to May 18. Interested persons can contact karenyogap­ei@gmail.com who will send them a link to join these meditation sessions.

A grief video series, facilitate­d by Sr. Debbie Peters, is Mondays, 2-3:30 p.m., Jan. 18 and 25 and Feb. 1, 8 and 15. Some participan­ts have already registered in February of 2020 and will be contacted. Other interested persons should contact dpeters@peimarthas.ca to register. There will be a $10 fee for the whole program.

Join Anne Gillis to study The Essential Enneagram by David Daniels. The enneagram is an ancient spiritual tool for teaching discrimina­tion between good and evil, between sin and virtue. It has foundation­s in all three of the monotheist­ic religions of Judaism, Christiani­ty and Sufi Islam because this wisdom is universal, deep and life-changing for all searching peoples. The cost $50 includes the text. Register by Jan. 11 at Anne.gillis@gmail.com.

In February, there will be a women’s book study entitled On the Brink of Everything; Grace, Gravity and Getting Old by author Parker Palmer and facilitate­d by Lynn Delong. The first session is Feb. 7, 6:30-8 p.m., and the remaining three sessions will be on the Mondays of Feb. 22, March 8 and March 22, 6:30-8 p.m. Contact lynndelong­284@gmail.com to register, to purchase their own text and pay a $10 registrati­on fee.

A book study of The Universal Christ by Richard Rohr will be offered through nine sessions on Tuesdays, 1-2:30 p.m., on Feb. 2 and 16, March 2, 16 and 30, April 13 and 27 and May 11 and 25. This study will be led by a team of Roseanne MacDonald, Vangie Broderick and Sr. Gemma Dunn. Participan­ts are asked to purchase their own text, register with srgemma@eastlink.ca and pay a $10 registrati­on fee.

The video series entitled The Benevolent Universe, facilitate­d by Gilles Michaud was advertised for the winter of 2020 will now be reoffered on Wednesdays, 2-3:30 p.m., Jan. 27, Feb. 3, 10 and 17. Original registrant­s will be contacted. New participan­ts are asked to register with leagil4533@gmail.com. There will be a $10 registrati­on fee.

Men’s Saturday morning group will continue to meet at West River United Church in Cornwall (face-to-face) on the fourth Saturday of each month, 10-11:30 a.m., beginning Jan. 23. Interested men are asked to contact leagil4533@gmail.com.

Dance chair yoga winter session will be offered by yoga instructor Karen Langevin on Mondays, Jan. 4 to March 8 (10-week program), 10-10:45 a.m. A spring session of 10 weeks runs March 15 to May 24, 10-10 a.m. To register, contact karenyogap­ei@gmail.com. The fee is $50 per season of 10 weeks and $80 if also registered for the Friday chair yoga and Christian meditation.

Friday’s Christian meditation and chair yoga’s winter session is Jan. 8 to March 12 (10 weeks), 10-10:45 a.m. and the spring session, March 19 to May 21 (10 weeks) at the same time. To register, contact karenyogap­ei@gmail.com. The fee is $50 per season and $80 if also registered for the dance chair yoga session.
