School offering dental clinic
Kinkora Regional High School
The annual Kinkora Regional High School (KRHS) Hockey Pool, the only fundraiser for the athletics department, has started again. The current standings are: 1. Kevin Bustard; 2. Mathew Gaudet; 3. Kevin Stewart.
The dental preventative clinic will be operating at KRHS in February. Its purpose is to screen children to assess risk of oral disease and provide oral health education, topical fluoride, scaling/polishing and sealants, according to each child’s individual needs. All children will be seen for a two-minute screening. Anyone who does not wish their child to have this dental screening is asked to notify the school secretary. There is no cost involved.
On Feb. 24, students will be participating in Pink Shirt Day at the school. This event allows students to promote awareness, understanding and openness about the problem of bullying and to commit to standing up against bullying.
Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week 2021 will be celebrated in February. Everyone is encouraged to find ways of saying thank you to teachers and staff for the contributions they make to the lives of their students.
Colonel Gray High School
Welcome to two new staff members at Colonel Gray High School. Lorianne Younker will be working as a youth service worker for the next five weeks. Amanda Dunsford has accepted a 66 per cent English position for the remainder of the school year.
Shelly Mann has accepted guidance counsellor positions at L.M. Montgomery and West Royalty elementary schools.

On Wednesday, Mount Saint Vincent University will be hosting a virtual information session, 6-7:30 p.m. Any student who applies, at this time, will have their application fee waived.
Wear something pink on Feb. 24 to celebrate Pink Shirt Day, symbolizing that we, as a society, will not tolerate bullying anywhere.
Holland College will be hosting virtual 15-minute one-on-one sessions every Wednesday in February, 5-8 p.m. Students applying for the 2021-22 academic year can book an appointment by contacting Recruitment@hollandcollege.com. There will be no classes on Feb. 26, due to the provincial professional learning day.
