Peacefully with his family by his side at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Sunday, February 14, 2021 of Captain Lewis William Ward of Rocky Pt., age 79 years. Loving husband of Dianne (nee MacNeill). Dear father of Michelle Smith (Justin), Kathy Doucette (Marc), Bill Ward, Krista Wight (Darrell), and Shay Ward (Jayme). Loving and proud Poppy of A.J., Allison, Troy, Matthew, Alex, Tori, Jessie, Marie, Billie Nicole, Dane, Perri, Zack, Colton and Logan and missed by the great grandchildren of Poppy 2, Kinley, Charlie, Beatrice, Theo, Leo, Millie and Pippa. Lewis is also lovingly remembered by his brothers Gary Ward (Kelly), David Ward, aunt Joan Roper, sisters-in-law Inez Weatherby, Ruth MacNeill, brother-in-law Harold Tremere and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Lewis and Mary Ward, father and motherin-law Ernest and Hilda MacNeill, sister Margaret Steiger, brothers-in-law Wayne MacNeill, Fred Weatherby, sister-inlaw Neva Tremere, granddaughter Kathleen (Katy) Mang and nephew Josh Ward. Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home. Due to current restrictions a funeral will be held (by invitation only) at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Cornwall and will be available for public viewing via live streaming on Thursday, February 18th at 11:00 a.m. by visiting Lewis’s obituary at www.islandowned.ca and clicking on the link.
