• The Summerside and Area Historical Society continues to be active in the preservation of local history.

• This charitable organization has supported a variety of projects over the decades including the compilation of veterans’ stories and protection of local artifacts.

• The group is particularly well-known for its popular history circles with topics as diverse as hockey, Marine Atlantic Ferries and Summerside Lobster Carnival.

• It also works closely with Culture Summerside (operates the Wyatt Heritage Properties) and the Eptek Art & Culture Centre (a site of the P.E.I. Museum).
