Dr. Lamont Sweet will give the first presentation in the Sir Andrew Macphail Homestead’s Lunch and Lecture series on July 11, 12:30 p.m., titled the Great Pandemic Influenza of 1918 on P.E.I.: A Historical Review. The cost to attend is $30 per person or $25 for members of the Sir Andrew Macphail Foundation. This is a fundraiser for the foundation. Wednesday Afternoon with L.M. Montgomery (formerly Wednesday Evening with L.M. Montgomery) has moved to Wednesdays at 2 p.m. at the Bideford Parsonage Museum, 784 Bideford Rd. (Route 166). Enjoy Montgomery’s short stories that were published in 1900, before the publication of Anne of Green Gables. On July 14, guest readers will present An Invitation Given on Impulse and A Helping Hand. Art galleries
The Kings Playhouse Gallery in Georgetown is presenting Rahma and Friends – Art Will See Us Through, an exhibition that sends a message of hope to refugee children anywhere in the world that the world cares about them and a message to all children and young people in the province and around the globe that there are ways to cope with difficult emotions.
The Cornwall Library Art Gallery is showing a series of landscapes and portraits by artist Peter Ross, which will be on exhibit until July 30. For information on displaying in the gallery, which is located in the Cornwall Town Hall, call 902629-8415.
Eptek Art and Culture Centre features William Stuart: Portrait of an Island Artist in the main gallery. There are also scavenger hunts related to the exhibitions for kids. The Dunes Studio Gallery & Café is open daily in Brackley Beach, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., featuring beautiful water gardens, Canadian crafts by 50 contributing artists and pottery produced on-site. The art gallery also features work and prints by local artists, and the annex has an international collection of furniture, fashions, jewelry, fine art, housewares and garden art.
The Common Things Art installation in downtown Charlottetown has been extended to July 11. The outdoor photo exhibit features backlit works from 20 Prince Edward Island artists lining lampposts downtown.
Lefurgey Cultural Centre is showcasing the lifelong work of a Summerside artist. Sandra Ellis - A Retrospective will be featured in the Lefurgey Room of the Lefurgey Cultural Centre, 205 Prince Street, Summerside, throughout July and August. It can be viewed free of charge, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Keir Memorial Museum in Malpeque is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. Admission is charged, and operations are adjusted to follow Chief Public Health Office protocols. The theme of the museum is roots of community, with a selection of artifacts and stories from the museum collection.

The Canadian Potato Museum is open Monday to Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., at 1 Dewar Ln., O’Leary. Highlights include the world’s largest exhibits of potato related farm machinery, , the world’s largest potato sculpture and an onsite restaurant.
