Liam Corcoran to perform on July 9

-

After an unnaturally quiet year which saw the live events industry shuttered, music is once again returning to the halls of historic St. Mary’s as the Indian River Festival returns for 2021

Singer-songwriter Liam Corcoran takes the stage on July 9, 7:30 p.m. as part of a celebratory 25th anniversary season that features a lineup of 11 concerts, community events and fundraisers.

The festival showcases folk, jazz, blues, roots, classical, choral, traditional and contemporary music – all in the acoustically-unparalleled venue of Historic St. Mary’s Church in Indian River.

Corcoran says he is honoured to be part of this year’s lineup.

“It will be one of the highlights of my career to be able to sing my songs in such a beautiful venue that has hosted the best artists in our region.”

Corcoran was the cofounder of the popular indie-pop group Two Hours Traffic. Since the group disbanded, he has embarked on a solo career, releasing RomDrom in 2015, Nevahland in 2017 and Giving Tree and Other Songs in 2020.

Nevahland was awarded with male solo recording of the year and pop recording of the year at the 2018 Music P.E.I. Awards.

Taking a break from his position of program manager for the School of Performing Arts at Holland College, Corcoran counts this concert as his main performance of the summer.

“I’m excited to share the set I’ve prepared, which will feature fresh arrangements of new and old material.”

Along with several solo sets, he will be joined by special guests Nick Doneff and Laura Oakie for some duos, trios and even some throwbacks to the days of Two Hours Traffic.
