Concert series announced

Shows will lead up to Cavendish Beach Music Festival in July 2022

A series of live shows will be held during the next 10 months leading up to the first Cavendish Beach Music Festival (CBMF) since 2019.

The Road Back to Cavendish Concert Series was announced July 9 by Cavendish Beach Music Festival presented by Bell.

The first concert in the series will be held Aug. 27 and 28 at the Cavendish Beach Events Centre. Award-winning artist Gord Bamford will headline Aug. 27. Joining him will be Tim & the Glory Boys, Jason Benoit and Rik Reese.

Tim Hicks, another awardwinning musician, headlines the Aug. 28 show, which also includes Blackjack Billy, Robyn Ottolini and Lawrence Maxwell.

“We are thrilled to be able to safely host live concerts again,” says Ben Murphy, the newly appointed CEO of Cavendish Beach Music Festival. “We had a lot of fun with our drive-in series last summer, but to be able to have our fans back at the festival grounds enjoying favourite CBMF artists together will be an unforgettable milestone. It has been too long.”

The last festival was held in 2019. The 2020 and 2021 versions had to be cancelled due to COVID-19.

Organizers said fans can expect more announcements about future stops on the concert series.

“With COVID restrictions easing, and after a long year and a half without being able to enjoy these larger shows, we’re really looking forward to getting out on the road, and eventually ending back in beautiful Cavendish Beach with CBMF in July 2022,” Murphy said.

Tickets are on sale at cavendishbeachmusic.com, with weekend passes starting at $99 plus taxes and service fees.
