P.E.I. courts staff to keep some mask regulations
As mask restrictions loosen in P.E.I., staff at the province’s courts will continue to wear them when dealing with the public.
In a July 14 release, P.E.I. court officials said courtrooms will continue to follow the recommendations of the province’s chief public health officer, Dr. Heather Morrison.
Inside the P.E.I. Court of Appeal and P.E.I. Supreme Court, masks will be required for staff when interacting with the public and required for everyone when moving through public areas.
Once a person sits down in the courtroom, the requirement to wear a mask will be up to the presiding judge, said the release.
Staff at the P.E.I. provincial courthouses will continue to wear masks when interacting with the public and when out in public spaces. The public is strongly encouraged to wear masks, however, it’s no longer mandatory for those courtrooms.
