GOVERNMENT DOESN’T CARE

-

P.E.I.’s PC party got elected a few months before the pandemic hit us. Thankfully, Dr. Heather Morrison was put in charge and she got us through this pandemic. But what I want to talk about today is what this PC party has done since. During the pandemic, Premier King said on television he was proud of the 20- to 29-year-olds on P.E.I. because they all got tested when they asked them to. He also said in his own words, “the future of P.E.I. is in good hands.” And then the PC party decided to lift the moratorium on the deepwater wells. So he’s proud of the younger generation and thinks P.E.I. is in good hands, but there may not be any drinkable water for them. Seems like they don’t care! The other issue is the gun range in South Granville. People in the area have been complaining for 10 years about the noise from the gun range. When this PC government came in I thought I’d start a fresh and start a new campaign to stop the noise. I’ve been in touch with Brad Trivers, and I also called the premier’s office to try to get a meeting. No one is returning my call. Do they care that there’s a new family that moved into the area within a kilometre of the gun range and they have a two-month-old baby, so this baby has to grow up to the sound of gunfire? Do they care of the people with PTSD in the area get triggered every time they hear gunshots? Do they care that a neighbour to the gun range is afraid of being shot in his own backyard? The answer
